Vines frontman Craig Nicholls has been accused of assaulting his parents and injuring a police officer during a violent outburst at his house in Australia, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

"He tried to evade police and (a) violent struggle ensued," Hurstville police inspector Robert Duncan said. One officer was treated for "grazes, cuts and bruises" at a local hospital.
Nicholls' parents have taken out an apprehended violence order -- a civil injunction and restraining order specific to Australia granted to those who fear they are in danger of physical harm -- and the frontman is expected to appear before the Sutherland Local Court tomorrow.?

This not Nicholls' first violent outburst. In 2004, he revealed he had Asperger's while in court addressing assault charges for reportedly kicking a photographer and damaging her camera during a radio station gig. Nicholls was diagnosed shortly after the incident and charges were dropped on the condition that he continue to seek treatment.
